This Avon Primary Care Research Collaborative (APCRC) seminar will be presented by Dr Hannah Thornton, APCRC Launching Fellow, Centre for Academic Primary Care, University of Bristol.

Hannah is a postdoctoral primary health care researcher in the Infection Research Group led by Professor Alastair Hay at the Centre for Academic Primary Care. Hannah is fully funded by an APCRC ‘Launching Fellowship’.

Hannah’s work explores the microbiology of the upper respiratory tract in children presenting to primary care, and addresses the challenge of the absence of ‘gold standard’ diagnostic tests for many respiratory tract infections in primary care.

This talk will address the role of upper respiratory tract point-of-care microbiological sampling, and point-of-care testing, in improving diagnosis and treatment outcomes for respiratory infections in primary care.

Everyone is welcome. Tea and coffee will be provided, feel free to bring your lunch with you.
