Join the Eating Disorders Health Integration Team‘s (EDHIT) public event and photography exhibition. There will be an exhibition of photography on the themes of ‘what makes me smile’ and ‘what recovery means to me’ which has been submitted by people with an eating disorder, their family, friends, supporters and the health care professionals who work with them.

There will also be an update on the work of EDHIT, inviting everyone to contribute to the future work of the team.

Come along to:

  • enjoy the photography
  • find out about services and groups in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset that offer support with mental health
  • take part in a workshop to help us develop a BRAND NEW app specifically for people with eating disorders and those around them
  • meet others who are interested in improving mental health support
  • and much, much more

This event is open to:

  • people with an experience of an eating disorder
  • family, friends and supporters of those with an eating disorder
  • health care professionals, commissioners and researchers
  • anyone interested in finding out more about eating disorders and mental health support

This event is organised by Ellen and Katie – Patient and Public Involvement Leads for EDHIT

How do I submit a photograph to be displayed in the exhibition?

Photographs should be on the themes of ‘what makes me smile’ and ‘what recovery means to me’.

  • To submit a printed photograph, please email [email protected] and we will send you all the details
  • Alternatively, you can share your photo with us via Instagram. Simply follow @helloedhit and then post your photo tagging us (@helloedhit) in the post and using the hash tag #edhitphotos and either #whatmakesmesmile or #whatrecoverymeanstome (Instagram photos will be displayed on a screen at the exhibition)

What is the deadline for submitting printed photos?

Please submit your printed photographs to STEPs at Southmead Hospital by 16 February. For more information contact [email protected].

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

No. We welcome people of all ages to attend the event and you do not have to bring ID.

Will there be food at the event?

No. There will be soft drinks on arrival.

Do I have to take part in any activities or talk in front of people?

There will be lots of opportunity for people who wish to share their experiences or make suggestions about improvements to eating disorder and mental health services to do so, but participation in discussions is voluntary and those who wish listen without speaking are very welcome to do so.

Do I have to stay for the whole event?

We encourage people to arrive by 7pm if possible, but you are welcome to leave at anytime.
