WEAHSN diabetes: self-management digital challenge

The West of England Academic Health Science Network (WEAHSN) is launching a 'Diabetes: mHealth - self-management in a digital world' challenge on 23 June, open to SMEs and third sector organisations.

WEAHSN has a remit to assist industry to work with the NHS to adopt and spread innovative products and services for patient benefit and UK economic growth.

For this challenge, they are looking for:

  • SMEs (small & medium sized enterprises) and third sector organisations capable of supplying the NHS with their product or service on a commercial basis to help people manage their diabetes

With products that:

  • Are already on the market
  • Suitable for people who have more than one long term health condition
  • Capable of linking into clinical IT platforms via a portal

They are particularly interested in apps and mobile websites. The specific challenges have been developed in association with people who have diabetes and healthcare professionals who specialise in diabetes.
