The Supporting Healthy Inclusive Neighbourhood Environments (SHINE) Health Integration Team held a Review Meeting on Tuesday 14 April which was well attended by a variety of academics, individuals working in Public Health and Urban Design, Community Engagement Officers and members of the public.
The event kicked off with a presentation of SHINE's progress to date which was followed by presentations from experts on the role of nature and the green environment in keeping people well; and the link between active travel and Children's educational attainment.
Delegates then had the opportunity to attend a series of breakout sessions on topics such as How to maximise the potential of contact with nature and green spaces in improving health & wellbeing; What streets mean for children; Creating age friendly neighbourhoods; Positive Ageing Associates; Let's Walk Bedminster: the Walking City Starts here.
