Stepping into Spring: Bristol Walk Fest and North Somerset Walk Fest

  • 12th April 2024

Bristol Walk Fest is an annual festival between 1 – 31 May showcasing the best of Bristol for everyone to enjoy with inclusive walks taking place across the city for people of all ages, interests and abilities.

The festival has been taking place for over a decade and is one of the highlights of spring in Bristol, providing free and low-cost walking activities for all ages. This year, North Somerset is launching a sister festival, North Somerset Walk Fest, which will also take place during ‘Living Streets’ National Walking Month.

Karen Lloyd, Bristol Walk Fest Director and co-director of our Active Lives Health Integration Team said:

“In 2024 Bristol Walk Fest and North Somerset Walk Fest will offer an incredible 250 walks during May, encouraging more people to explore their local area and try something new.”

In Bristol, 8,000 programmes have been distributed to libraries, leisure centres and community centres across the city to help spread the word. The entire catalogue of events is also available to view on the Bristol Walk Fest website. Events range across different themes including health and well-being, walking sports, nature and wildlife, history and architecture and arts and culture.

Don’t miss Bristol Walk Fest’s launch event taking place on 1 May with an inaugural group walk followed by talks from Bristol’s walking community, hosted by Ellis Brigham.
