Professor Wendy Bickmore, Director of the MRC Human Genetics Unit, MRC Institute of Genetics and Molecular Medicine at the University of Edinburgh, presents the 2016 Sir Anthony Epstein Lecture. Organised by School of Cellular and Molecular Medicine
Professor Bickmore has shown that different human chromosomes have preferred positions in the nucleus, related to their gene content, addressed how genes are organized and packaged and how they move in the cell cycle and during development. Her research focuses on how the spatial organization of the nucleus influences genome function in development and disease.
The lecture is free to attend and will be followed by a drinks reception. Booking is required. Contact to book, email: [email protected].
