A lecture by Dr Andreas Goebel on the therapeutic implications of non-inflammatory, pain-sensitizing autoantibodies in chronic pain.
Dr Goebel’s main research interest is in how the immune system, and specifically autoantibodies, may contribute to causing chronic pain and how this might translate into new treatments. His specialist area of expertise is Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).
In addition to his work as a pain consultant and senior lecturer, Dr Goebel is also a member of several high profile organisations including the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP), the Royal College of Anaesthetists, and the CRPS UK Clinical & Research Network.
