As World AIDS Day 2026 approaches, our colleagues at Brigstowe are looking forward to coming together as a community to remember, celebrate progress, reconnect, reflect, and renew the commitment to ending HIV stigma.
Whether you’re living with HIV, a friend, family member, ally or supporter, you’re warmly invited to join in. However you mark the day, we hope you’ll find something meaningful in this year’s events and opportunities to remember, connect, celebrate and stand together.

23 November – 6 December – Anti-HIV Stigma Campaign in Healthcare
YUNO and Brigstowe are launching a campaign to raise awareness of HIV stigma among healthcare professionals across local hospitals and GP practices. Through posters, digital communications, information stalls and staff talks, the campaign will encourage understanding, challenge misconceptions, and help create more positive experiences of care for people living with HIV.

Thursday 26 November at 1pm – Red Ribbon Flag Raising Outside Bristol City Hall, BS1 5TR
Gather outside Bristol City Hall as the Red Ribbon flag is raised to mark World AIDS Day. The Bristol mayor will be joining the flag raising. Afterwards, everyone is invited inside for tea, biscuits and a chat. The flag will remain flying throughout the week, including on World AIDS Day itself. During hours of darkness, City Hall will be lit up too.
Saturday 28 November – Vigil and Celebration at The Watershed, BS1 5TX
Join an evening of music, stories and community to mark World AIDS Day. Commemorate those who have been lost, hear personal stories from people in the community, enjoy some fantastic live performances, and celebrate the people, friendships and support that continue to make the community strong.
- 5.30pm – 6pm | World AIDS Day Vigil (arrivals from 5.15pm)
- 6pm – 6.30pm | Complimentary drinks and nibbles
- 6.30pm – 8pm | Celebration event
- 8pm – 8.30pm | Stay for a drink and a chat
Tickets for both events are free. If you plan to attend both the Vigil and Celebration, please book a ticket for each event.
Saturday 5 December 9.30pm-2am – DTYM (Don’t Tell Your Mother) Fundraiser at The Phoenix, 1 Wellington Buildings, Champion Square, Bristol, BS2 9DB
Join DTYM for their annual club night fundraiser in support of Brigstowe. More information and ticket details will be shared soon.
