Afroditi Stathi, Professor of Physical Activity and Community Health, University of Bristol
Drawing from observational studies and large randomised controlled trials, Professor Afroditi Stathi will delve into how exercise and daily activity can make a difference to independence and quality of life of older people at any age. She will discuss effective strategies to enhance mobility and physical activity in later life and examine the potential of environmental interventions in facilitating movement. Using the city of Bristol as a case study, she will discuss the potential of scaling up successful community-based programmes, highlighting both the challenges and the immense opportunities in promoting active ageing.
