This year’s theme is: Wadajir Health Initiative: Grassroots Action for Cancer Prevention and Health Promotion.
Wadajir, meaning togetherness in Somali, reflects the Congress’s focus on bringing people together to strengthen community-led approaches to health promotion and sustenance. The Congress will bring together members of the public, community organisations, researchers and healthcare practitioners to examine how cancer prevention, screening and health promotion can become part of everyday community life.
The Congress is designed to move from broad discussions to practical engagement through keynotes, workshops and first-hand stories. The goal is to discuss health inequalities or cancer prevention and consider what can be done at the grassroots level, within homes, religious centres, community spaces and everyday conversations.
The ALIBSA team warmly encourages you to attend and be part of this important conversation on health equity and community wellbeing.
