People with a learning disability can sometimes miss out on the support they need to access healthcare. Simple changes in the way that hospitals provide care can make a big difference. As part of events to mark Learning Disabilities Awareness Week (21-27 June 2021), health professionals in Bristol and Weston are holding an online event to raise awareness of the support available for people with learning disabilities who are accessing care. We will be speaking with families, patients, carers and healthcare staff about the importance of asking for and providing ‘reasonable adjustments’ – helpful changes to the way a service works to make it easier for people with learning disabilities. There will also be a Q&A session so that people can ask any questions that they might have.To book your place and receive a link to the event, please book online, contact [email protected], or call 0117 342 3764.
