Most of us know that patient and public involvement (PPI) is essential to high quality research. But what should researchers consider when working with public contributors?

In this hour-long online seminar, you will hear from four of our public contributors – two adults and two young people – about their experiences of being involved in research.

Sarah and Louise have worked in PPI for 15 years between them. They have used this wealth of experience to create resources to help researchers who are working with public contributors.

Sarah has developed a new written guide to working effectively with public contributors. The guide is aimed at researchers and is available on the ARC West website.

Louise has created a diagram explaining how PPI can support and enhance the research process. It is aimed at both researchers and public contributors alike and is available on the ARC West website and Flickr.

Ella and Alex are members of our Young People’s Advisory Group (YPAG). They will talk about their experiences as young people involved in research.

The webinar will be chaired by ARC West’s PPI Lead Associate Professor Andy Gibson. There will be plenty of time for questions so you can quiz Louise, Sarah, Ella and Alex.
