What we are working on
Current Kidney Disease HIT activities include:
- North Bristol Trust Kidney Unit patient website restructure/upgrade.
- Campaigning on prescription charges being inequitable for patients with long term conditions in England.
- CKD monitoring, education, outreach and outcome improvement programme in BNSSG.
- Establishment of a social worker post in adult kidney care.
- Working with the renal pharmacy team on changes to the way the renal unit cares for people with CKD, including through outreach into primary care for case identification, pharmacist-led clinical reviews and education sessions.
- Expanding our patient and public and multi-professional involvement in the kidney HIT to ensure representation across the life course.
- Investigating and addressing inequalities in access to paediatric kidney transplantation
