Dementia HIT appoints new directors

11 June 2021

Bristol Health Partners’ Dementia Health Integration Team (HIT) has appointed three new co-directors to lead the HIT’s work in improving care for people with dementia.

The Dementia HIT is a team of professionals working together to transform care for people affected by dementia through research, integrating and improving care services and support, and creating dementia-friendly communities.

The new co-directors bring a wealth of experience to the HIT. Dr Rachel Holland is a clinical psychologist for Bristol Dementia Wellbeing Service, Dr Gary Christopher is a gerontologist and the Ageing Well Lead (Psychology) at the University of the West of England (UWE) Bristol, and Isobel Jones is CEO of Alive, a Bristol-based charity which aims to enrich the lives of older people in care and train those who care for them.

They replace Dr Maria-Paloma Sequeiros Camarinha and Dr Hilary Archer, who are stepping down after leading the Dementia HIT successfully for many years.

Co-director Isobel Jones says:

“Through our combined experience in clinical practice, community engagement, and research, we aim to raise the profile of the great work carried out in Bristol around dementia and build further upon this by embracing all communities.”

Dementia HIT co-ordinator vacancy

With the new directors now in post, the Dementia HIT is now recruiting for a new co-ordinator, a role which will be hosted by Alive. Applications close on 30 June 2021. Find out more and apply
