Death of SHINE HIT's Peter Wilkinson

Peter Wilkinson, a Bristol parks manager and member of the Healthy Neighbourhood Environments (SHINE) HIT, has died aged 57.

Peter Wilkinson, a Bristol parks manager and member of the Healthy Neighbourhood Environments (SHINE) HIT, has died aged 57.

Peter died of lymphoma, a rare cancer that affects the body’s immune system, on 9 June 2018.

Peter oversaw the £6.4 million regeneration of Ashton Court and a similar-sized project at the Blaise Castle Estate during his time as parks service manager at Bristol City Council.

He was instrumental in setting up the Bristol Parks Forum, and worked tirelessly with Friends groups of several green spaces in the city.

Peter believed in making parks, green spaces and woodlands more accessible to everyone.
