The Eating Disorders Health Integration Team (EDHIT) are holding an exhibition of photographs by people with experience of eating disorders on 27 February.

Ellen Devine, who is EDHIT’s workstream lead for patient and public involvement said:

“EDHIT puts the experiences of people with eating disorders at the heart of its work, but sometimes it’s hard to put your experiences into words. The exhibition encourages people with a lived experience of eating disorders, their family, friends and support network, to share their stories via photos. We hope the photos will act as a conversation starter to explore the theme of ‘what recovery means to me’, whilst also celebrating photos that have made us smile and reminding us that even in the darkness of life with an eating disorder, there is always hope for recovery.”

The themes for the exhibition are ‘what makes me smile’ and ‘what recovery means to me’. Photos can be submitted by people with an eating disorder, their family, friends, supporters and the health care professionals who work with them. The exhibition, which follows on from their launch art exhibition in 2016, will in held in the Arnolfini’s Light Studio.

There will also be an update on the work of EDHIT, inviting everyone to contribute to the future work of the team.

Come along to:

  • enjoy the photography
  • find out about services and groups in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset that offer support with mental health
  • take part in a workshop to help us develop a BRAND NEW app specifically for people with eating disorders and those around them
