The Stroke Health Integration Team (HIT) Research and Innovation workstream is pleased to welcome you to a stroke research workshop at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, University of the West of England, T Block, Frenchay Campus.

This is an opportunity for those working across the South West region in stroke research (HCP’s, ACP’s, clinicians and researchers) to get together to discover current research, share updates and network with others. There will also be an optional visit to the UWE Bristol Robotics lab.

Speakers include:

  • Jo White, UWE, Inclusivity in Stroke Self-Management Support. Co-designing resources to improve self-management by Black African and Afro-Caribbean communities living with stroke in England.
  • Venexia Walker, University of Bristol, An introduction to Health Data Science, with a focus on research using electronic health records.
  • Praveen Kumar, UWE, Using socially assistive robots to support rehabilitation.
  • Carlos Cifuentes, UWE, Smart walking aids for people with cognitive and motor impairments

During the event there will be plenty of opportunities to network and chat to others working in the field.

A vegetarian / vegan lunch will be provided.
