‘Unseen Unheard’: Regional Fil Screening tour, in partnership with Black Women Rising and the Theatre Peckham, funded by Gilead.

‘Unseen Unheard: The untold breast cancer stories of Black Women in the UK’ is written by trailblazing playwright, Naomi Denny, and following an impactful run at Theatre Peckham in 2023 a recording of the play is returning for regional screenings across the UK.

The play is based on the real stories of six women from Black Women Rising, a pioneering cancer support project that seeks to address the inequalities faced by Black women undergoing cancer treatment. Set in real time on a normal evening six women gather to unravel their shared experiences of the abnormality that Black women experience through their diagnosis, and invite us into their world with honesty and candour.

Each screening will host a post-show panel discussion facilitated by award-winning community champion Leanne Pero, founder and CEO of Black Women Rising.

In order to be accessible to as many people as possible, tickets will be completely free.

Visit the Black Women Rising website for more information on their work and how you can support them.
