The demographics of the city are changing. With a growing elderly population and an increase in people affected by long-term health conditions, healthcare will need change. SPHERE is an engineering research project developing sensor systems to provide accurate information about health-related behaviours. Future applications include detection of early stage dementia and enabling people to self-manage their health, for instance by predicting when someone might fall.
