GPs in emergency departments

Hear about early findings from the General Practitioners and Emergency Departments (GPED): Efficient Models of Care study, which looks at the impact of GPs working in or alongside emergency departments (ED), on patient care, the primary care and acute hospital team, and the wider urgent care system.

This meeting will cover an introduction to the study, early findings, a taxonomy of the models and the current provision of care in the UK. There will also be a round table discussion on current practice, challenges to provision and potential solutions.

The meeting presentations will include recent work conducted in collaboration with our colleagues at Cardiff University for the GPs in EDs study led by Professor Adrian Edwards.

This event is aimed at local and national commissioners, health service managers, health professionals and researchers.
