The next Future of Care distinguished address event series will address how the use of augmented & virtual environments might impact health & care. It will be held as a hybrid event, with the option to attend in-person (COVID-dependant) at the University of Gloucestershire, as well as virtually.

In April 2015, Professor Shafi Ahmed, performed the world’s first virtual reality (VR) operation, recording and streaming live in 360 degrees to more than 55,000 people across the world. In this presentation, Shafi will share examples of how these technologies might be deployed, discus how we might re-imagine the way we might deliver care, and train our workforce for the health and care challenges that we will face.

This is the second in a series of Future of Care distinguished addresses and is hosted jointly with the University of Gloucestershire. It continues the work of The Future of Care event series in highlighting the potential of new and emerging technologies to address the ambitions in the NHS Long Term Plan.
