You are invited to attend the first Project REACT (REtirement in ACTion) research seminar. The seminar will showcase research relating to mobility loss and lifestyle interventions in the older population.

Programme

3:00-3.30pm Functional decline and mobility loss in the older population: Measurement, consequences and clinical applications

Professor Jack M. Guralnik will highlight that functional assessment is a powerful predictor of adverse outcomes in older people. He will share examples of how lower extremity functional assessment in clinical settings can be a useful addition to patient assessment.

3.30-3.45pm Question and answer session

There will be an opportunity to ask questions to Professor Jack M. Guralnik.

3.45-4.15pm Lifestyle interventions in older adults: Challenges and opportunities

Professor W. Jack Rejeski will discuss several challenges to lifestyle and weight management interventions in older adults. The importance of group-mediated interventions and the value of social connections will be highlighted.

4.15-4.30pm Question and answer session

There will be an opportunity to ask questions to Prof W. Jack Rejeski.
