Bristol City Council will not be closing Bristol’s public toilets, following proposals to close them put forward in the elected Mayor’s budget consultation. Alongside other groups who objected to the proposals, the Supporting Healthy Inclusive Neighbourhood Environments Health Integration Team (SHINE HIT) responded with a summary of the public health implications.

SHINE Director Suzanne Audrey said: “We are very pleased that the decision has been made to retain public toilets in Bristol. It may seem an amusing topic to some, but having easy access to toilets is an important aspect of a healthy, inclusive environment for people of all ages.”
