Action! Public contributors star in Southmead Hospital’s Renal Service films
3rd October 2025
Public contributors Primrose Granville and Soumeya Bouacida feature in two new North Bristol NHS Trust films which guide patients through what to expect when attending Renal Service appointments at Southmead Hospital.
The Renal (kidney medicine, or nephrology) Service at Southmead is the largest of its kind in the South West of England. It looks after patients with kidney diseases, both as inpatients and outpatients. It helps patients prepare for and receive treatments for kidney failure, including kidney transplants, dialysis, and conservative care for kidney failure.
As kidney transplant recipients and members of the HIT, Primrose and Soumeya were involved in the project from concept stage, right through to starring in and narrating the films themselves.
The HIT hopes that the films will help reassure renal patients about what happens when they come to the Renal Service at Southmead for inpatient or outpatient appointments.
