Two members of the Parkinson’s and Other Movement Disorders Health Integration Team (MOVE HIT) have recently been recognised for their achievements with two awards.

Deputy Director Lucy Mooney has received the North Bristol NHS Trust’s annual Nursing Director Award in the research and innovation category. Lucy, who is the Lead Movement Disorder Nurse at North Bristol Trust, was named the winner for her work in fundraising and helping with the move of the Parkinson’s team into the Bristol Brain Centre. She was described as a “fearless leader” in her nomination, which she was thrilled came from a senior nurse in another team within the Brain Centre.

Director Dr Alan Whone was named South West Trainer of the Year (registrar training for non general internal medicine) in the South West Peninsula Deanery Awards.
