Dementia HIT welcomes new co-director
- 13th June 2025
Virginia Wild is the new co-director for our Dementia Health Integration Team (HIT).
A qualified Occupational Therapist, Virginia has spent much of her career understanding and advocating for the needs of people with dementia and their carers.
She is Service Manager at the award-winning Bristol Dementia Wellbeing Service, which has been responsible for delivering dementia services in the city since 2015.
Since becoming Service Manager in 2022, she has worked closely with the Dementia HIT including fellow co-directors Isobel Jones and Dr Gary Christopher.
Virginia says:
“I believe that bringing together people from diverse organisations and communities, both professional experts and experts by experience, gives a unique richness of information and insight that enhances our evidence base and enables the development and delivery of best practice. I see the Dementia HIT as being a vital body that enables this collaboration and forward thinking.
“The current co-directors have worked tirelessly to develop services for people living with dementia, and I now welcome the opportunity to join them in this work.”
Virginia replaces Dr Rachel Holland, who stepped down as Dementia HIT co-director earlier in 2025.
